Dr. Robert Kearney
M.D., F.A.C.S.

San Diego plastic surgeon Robert Kearney MD, FACS, graduated from Providence College cum laude and received his Medical Degree from Thomas Jefferson School in Philadelphia. Dr. Kearney completed his general surgery residency at the University of South Florida in Tampa. He then went on to complete his plastic surgery residency at Vanderbilt University in Nashville and finally a craniofacial fellowship in Miami under S.A. Wolfe MD, an internationally renowned craniofacial surgeon.

 

Upon completion of his training, Dr. Kearney returned to the full-time faculty at the University of South Florida in Tampa where he trained future plastic surgeons. During his tenure at the University, he focused on complex craniofacial reconstructive surgery, breast reconstruction surgery and cosmetic surgery of the face, breasts and body. Dr. Kearney initiated micro-vascular breast reconstruction at the H. Lee Moffit Cancer Center in Tampa while serving as the Director of the Micro Vascular Division.

 

Dr. Kearney is Board Certified in Plastic Surgery by the American Board of Plastic Surgery as well as General Surgery by the American Board of Surgery. He maintains active membership in the American Society of Plastic Surgeons as well as the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.

 

Though he is double board certified, Dr. Kearney limits his practice to plastic surgery and facial aesthetics.  He strives to stay on the cutting edge of new techniques in cosmetic surgery and skin rejuvenation. Dr. Kearney is a firm believer that people should be proactive about their health and aging, and that surgery is only one aspect of body maintenance. 

 

Dr. Kearney thouroughly enjoys teaching other medical professionals the practice of esthetic medicine. He finds joy in seeing others be successful in their practice.

Shannon Gunderson
FNP

Shannon Gunderson FNP, has an extensive 25 year nursing background in ICU, ER and Trauma, Pediatrics, and Plastic Surgery and is an active member of the Dermatology Nurses Association. She discovered her passion for teaching others the benefits and techniques of cosmetic facial enhancements and is an entrepreneur who partnered to opened a medical day spa in 2005 located in San Diego, CA. In addition to treating patients in total facial aesthetics in a medical spa setting, Ms. Gunderson also runs a successful skin care business. She is passionate and dedicated to providing quality and proven care in the field of medical facial esthetics.  

Peggy Keating
RN, BSN

Peggy has more than 30 years of nursing experience in the areas of plastic surgery, cardiac care, surgical, home health and post partum nursing.  From being trained in the Midwest, to working many years in Southern California, she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to aesthetic training.

 

Peggy's main goal is to make medical professionals feel comfortable on their journey to be the best they can be!

"Injecting Botox and dermal fillers is as much of an art as it is a medical procedure.  Nurse Practioner's, Physician Assistants, and Registered Nurses are being called upon more and more frequently to perform procedures of injectables previously done only by physicians.  This course will teach participants the basics of the knowledge and skills necessary to become a competent injector in the growing field of cosmetic medicine".
